Nick Cavanaugh

"I was definitely the first 'out' drag queen in Woodburn, Oregon," says Nick Cavanaugh/Niqi Monroe. Born in Silverton, Mr. Cavanaugh began performing formally at the age of 15. He has performed as a member of the Woodburn Highliners Dance Troupe and as a headlining artist for 4 years consecutively at the outdoor summer drag festival Peacock in the Park. He has also directed and choreographed several productions for charities, galas and public events. This season's performances mark Cavanaugh's debut as a member of a professional dance company. Cavanaugh's dance training includes ballet, modern, pop, hip hop, jazz and flamenco. He is especially grateful to his instructors, as well as, his mentors Gary Palmer and Michele Girard. Cavanaugh's interests include all forms of dance, "But more than anything, I want to become amazing at point," says Cavanaugh. "To be a good dancer, you must be in touch with what drives you Š your mind can surpass any other 'laws' of life."
